Up For Pretty Much Anything
This is pretty old, and it was sent over for the New York Giants reference, but I can’t help but think there’s a bigger message in there for me. Always thought of myself as a friend of the unions. Maybe that’s the problem. “Pretty sure someone was sitting there.” That is fantastic stuff. Thanks to NCMF for the laugh.
Reporter: How do you respond to the new pants Mike Greenman is wearing today?
AGU: We have not noticed them.
Thanks For Playing

As some with seemingly high-waisted pants dust off their already thin resumes and others wait for the priest to deliver the last rights on their defensive coordinator careers, 12 fortunate teams are preparing for the National Football League post season. It all begins Saturday, so eat a lot of bread and coat your stomach with a nice big glass of milk ’cause we’re gettin’ drunk. Here’s a look at the match-ups and a quick thought about them. I’ll put together a more extensive preview — complete with all your gambling needs — later this week.
American
New York Jets (9-7) at Cincinnati (10-6)
Saturday, 3:30 p.m. on NBC
If you’re like me and wondering why the Jets rise up to the fifth seed ahead of Baltimore, wonder no more. Both teams finished with the same record (9-7) and both held the same conference record at 7-5. In the second tie-breaker, though, the Jets held a 4-1 record in common games (beating the Bengals, Colts, Patriots, and Raiders, losing one to New England). Baltimore went 1-4 in those match-ups.
Baltimore Ravens (9-7) at New England Patriots (10-6)
Sunday, noon on CBS
It shouldn’t be too hard to find a short, white guy in the greater Boston area to run a five yards slant and catch the ball in the mid-section before falling down, should it?
National
Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) at Dallas Cowboys (11-5)
Saturday, 7 p.m. on NBC
Dallas looks like the best team in the NFC right now, which says a lot about the conference. IT SUCKS. The way the Eagles played on Sunday — with a first-round bye and a home field date on the line — they should have no chance. As a Giants fan, I don’t know who to root for.
Green Bay (11-5) at Arizona Cardinals (10-6)
Sunday, 3:30 p.m. on FOX
Seriously, someone tell me who is playing in the NFC championship game. Try to make an argument for any of these teams, including New Orleans and Minnesota.
